Ranja CV Leadership Program

The Ranja CV Leadership Program is a U.S.-based program that provides college students of Cabo Verdean descent with 1-on-1 mentorship and group support for their leadership development and career success. This virtual program will launch in Fall 2022. Check back for updates in March 2022.

Why should you join this program?

College students who join this program, will be provided with a mentor for the 2022-2022 academic year. Your mentor will be professional of Cabo Verdean descent. Your mentor will have career and/or professional interests that are similar to yours. They will support your growth as a leader and your career development. Your mentor will meet with you in a virtual setting once a month from Oct. 2022 to June 2023. Your mentor will offer resources & strategies to help you overcome challenges & achieve your goals. You will also have the opportunity to meet other Cabo Verdean students in our program during virtual gatherings.

Please note that submitting your interest does not guarantee you will be matched with a mentor. Matches are dependent on whether we can find a mentor with similar interests and career goals. However, we will try our best! And we’ll try to find a way to support you even if we can’t match you with a mentor.

In addition to a mentor, all participants will be expected to attend monthly virtual leadership training sessions. These sessions will be fun, engaging, and interactive. You’ll learn about leadership and get to know the other students in the program.

Program Commitment:

● Meet one-on-one with your mentor through a video call at least once each month for at least 45 minutes.

● Identify and set a specific, consistent time each month to meet with your mentor.

● Attend all monthly virtual leadership training sessions. Times will vary and will be included in the application. In order to participate, you must have your video on during the entire duration of the session.

● Communicate any questions or concerns you have with the Ranja CV team immediately.

● Respond to any communication from the Ranja CV team or your mentor in a timely manner.

● You may potentially meet with your mentor in person, depending on how close you live to your mentor, and depending on the comfort of you and your mentor. All in-person meetings should be approved by the Ranja CV team in advance.
